About Alejandro
Alejandro joined the Energy and Engineering department at UCR in June 2019. He joined his junior year of college when he was studying for his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. Alejandro started off as one of three Energy and Engineering interns that focused on multiple projects which involved data collection and improving UCR's utility and electrical infrastructure.
After graduation in 2020, Alejandro stayed at UCR as part of BCOE's B.S + M.S program and is currently earning his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Currently Alejandro focuses his time on projects including:
Monthly updates of UCR's utility usage and spending
Monthly determination of whether UCR should enter a fixed rate contract for purchasing natural gas
Monthly Solar Panel production and performance updates
Keeping documentation of which buildings on UCR's campus are metered
Any other projects that will help the Energy and Engineering team
In the future Alejandro hopes to apply his Mechanical Engineering background from UCR and the knowledge he has gained from the Energy and Engineering team to become a Disney Imagineer. As an Imagineer he hopes to design and create new rides for Disney parks that provide a fun and energy efficient experience.
