What we do

  • General Assignment classroom support — furniture and supplies, including disabled student classroom support.
  • Execute daily setups for conferences, meetings, and events on campus.
  • Set up chairs, tables, and canopies along with space preparation and cleanup.
  • Office and laboratory moves and relocation performed upon request — except gas cylinder tanks contact UCR Receiving Services.
  • Transport items for salvage.
  • Coordinate with customers and vendors for large-scale event setups, such as commencement.
  • Repair and replace restroom dispensers — paper towel, sanitary napkin, hand soap, toilet paper, and seat cover dispensers. 
  • Provide support to Facilities Services custodial department which includes repair services to automated equipment.

About our team

  • We carried out 1,123 event support requests in FY 22-23.
  • We received 3,000+ work orders in FY 22-23.
  • Our team consists of 2 laborers and 1 supervisor, collectively with approximately 30 years of UCR service.

For a more efficient service request

  • Place your request 14 days in advance. All requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis as we continue to face staffing shortages.
  • Provide photos/videos and as much detail as possible about what you need to have moved. Is it furniture or equipment? This helps us asses the request much faster. Attachments can be added to a service request online following submission.
  • Provide the precise location, using landmarks when possible.
  • Understand we are limited in staffing and capability, and may refer you to a vendor through Procurement.
