Facilities Services' Limited Services During the Campus Closure - Updated May 28, 2020

In an effort to return the campus to normal operating conditions, Facilities Services has increased its Custodial, Landscape, Refuse and Maintenance staff. Below is an overview of our current maintenance-focused services during the campus closure.

Campus Custodial Services: Custodial Services have resumed routine cleaning with an emphasis on cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and common areas. Custodial services will continue to use a chemical disinfectant recommended by Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and is on the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) List N approved list of products for use against SARS-co V-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. To assist with cleaning and social distancing needs, a disinfecting/social distancing kit will be available for purchase which will include items such as blue painters tape, disinfectant, paper towels, and more. We will provide detailed information on these kits in the beginning of June.

Limited Campus Custodial & Refuse Service: All campus refuse will be collected daily. Green waste will be hauled to AgOPs, campus landfill dumpsters are emptied every Tuesday and Thursday and recycling dumpsters are checked or emptied every Wednesday. All essential workers in occupied buildings will need to dispose of recycling by utilizing the building dumpsters at the end of their day. We ask that all dumpster lids are closed after use.

Landscape Services: Landscape Services are limited to infrastructure work including weed removal and plant maintenance. Mowing on-campus grounds will be limited to every other week. Housing locations are mowed on alternate weeks (weather permitting). Emergency weather-related debris removal also continues to be supported.

Maintenance Services: Maintenance Services is focused on restoring campus buildings to normal operating conditions while assessing next steps for routine maintenance. As the campus reopens, requests for special cleaning requests or projects will not be accepted.

Minor Renovation Project Work Halted: All minor renovation projects remain on hold during the campus closure, currently through June 19, 2020. As campus prepares for reopening, previously prioritized minor renovation projects and projects currently in process will be assessed for next steps. Additional information related to minor renovation projects will be communicated by Facilities Services upon return to normal business operations.
